Upcoming Events and Projects


    ALA UNIT 60 Activities - The Auxiliary has many activities and events for all tastes. From Fundraisers to Crab Feasts to Wine and Craft Nights, we have a very active membership. Below are several of our ongoing activities:.

    Wine and Craft Nights - Bring some friends and enjoy a relaxing and fun evening learning and making a new craft to take home. With music, adult beverages, and desserts, a good time is always had by all. Past projects included Seasonal Wreaths, Chunky Blankets, and Paint Nights.

    CRAB FEAST - This year s Crab Feast hosted by the Unit will be on October 14th. We are always looking for people to work that day and everyone has a good time. If you would prefer to bring a group and participate, tickets will be on sale in August through Eventbrite and at the Post.

    Cards for Military and Veterans - We have several greeting card programs for active-duty military, veterans, and senior citizens. Auxiliary members along with Post Family members sign and deliver cards to Veteran homes and senior citizens during the holidays. We also have members who create their own unsigned cards to be sent to active-duty military personnel so that they may have cards to send back to their families for birthdays and special occasions.

    Community Outreach & Fundraising - One of our missions is to help in the community and to fundraise for the many organizations that give services to our Military Families, Veterans, and Children. This year we were able to donate educational supplies to a local elementary school, work on clean-up projects around town, and donate to projects and scholarships, both local and national. Some of these included: Fisher House, Warrior Canines, Girls State Leadership Program, Creative Arts Festival for Veterans, Casey Cares, Special Olympics, and many more.

    Children and Youth Parties - The Unit hosts 3 seasonal parties for Children and Youth (one of our 4 Pillars) and include Halloween, Christmas, and Easter with special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Easter Bunny and more. The next party will be the Halloween Party in October with more information coming in the summer.

    Spring Craft Show - Our Spring Craft Show is growing every year and includes over 50 vendors, food trucks and DJ. With a wide selection of crafts including needlework, soaps, beauty products, d cor, jewelry, pottery, artwork, confections, and more, it s easy to bring home lots of beautiful hand-created items.

    Ronald McDonald House Pull Tab Program - The Auxiliary has an ongoing program collecting pull tabs from metal containers such as soft drinks, pet food cans, beer cans, soup containers and other cans with a pull tab/pop-top lid. These can be collected and dropped into the container in the lounge and will be turned in for recycling and proceeds given to the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore. Any amount is appreciated.
